collection over the years, we decided to put a
metals collection together.
Featuring 284 photorealistic, seamlessly tileable textures, the collection
also includes actual metal color swatches from the Periodic Table as an added
bonus, making this a one-of-a-kind collection. Load these into a graphics program
to get the exact color, then add layers, bump maps, lighting and other properties
to give them the desired look. No more guessing about metal colors.
The collection's author, Sebastien Houde, spent significant time researching
the exact color values and did a fabulous job of photographing and post processing
the actual textures. Sebastien also created our very popular "Seamless
Textures 4 - Classic Stonework" texture collection. He's a talented artist
and photographer whose work is respected in many areas.
Typical textures in the library include industrial metals, painted metals,
rusted metals, metals with rivets and bolts, and ten clip mapped textures with
transparency defined. As a free added bonus, the CD-Rom includes a highly detailed
Viewpoint Digital mesh of a Refinery, which retails for $695. Also included
are 129 stock photos of applications using metals.
The texture library is particularly useful for both 3D and 2D artists involved
in graphics work and print applications, and are great for use in Adobe Photoshop
creations. The textures are perfectly suited for general-purpose 3D and 2D computer
art and animation, computer games, architectural renderings, web content development,
visualizations, film industry CGI, print media applications, video/TV productions
and historical reproductions. The textures can be used on all major platforms:
